This is as close as you will get to a sliced white loaf in France. “Mie” means crumb because this bread is all about the crumb. A soft, fluffy crumb and a soft crust.
There is definitely a place in our larder for this kind of bread. It makes wonderful sandwiches and is enjoyed by all age groups. The most important difference between this and our factory bread is that it contains no additives or preservatives. It is also slowly fermented for maximum nutrition and digestion.
Oh, and it fits perfectly into the toaster!
